Internationalization

Erasmus + is the European Union program in the fields of education, training, youth and sport, for the period 2021-2027.
Inclusive and high-quality education and training, as well as informal and non-formal learning, support participants of all ages and enable them to achieve the qualifications and skills necessary for active participation in democratic society, real intercultural exchange and the transition to the job market. Within the Erasmus + Programme, some key themes take on central roles such as social inclusion, environmental sustainability, the transition toward digital and the promotion of participation of younger generations in democratic life. Spending time in another country to study, learn and work should become the norm, as should being able to speak two other languages in addition to your native language.

For the 2021/2027 period, Erasmus+ has fundings for 28.4 billion euros, which is almost twice as much as the previous program amount (2014-2020). Erasmus+ supports the priorities and activities established by the European Education Area, the Digital Education Action Plan and the European Skills Agenda.

List of Active Erasmus Exchanges

Annual Call for Applications

The University’s International Relations Office prepares the call for applications with the selection notice, which lists: admission requirements, instructions for submitting applications, partner universities, language proficiency requirements, selection criteria, deadlines and schedules related to rankings, students’ obligations and guarantees, etc. In addition, the Office is responsible for its publication and dissemination.

The Department of Architecture (DiARC) organizes the selection procedure on the basis of a ranking provided by CINECA, which evaluates students through a unified career assessment algorithm. The Department may also apply an additional parameter, predefined by the Department’s Erasmus Committee, which adjusts the score according to criteria published on the DiARC website prior to the selection procedure.

a) Based on any adjustments applied, the Department’s Erasmus Committee prepares the final ranking list, assigning each scholarship according to the preferences expressed by the student in the Erasmus Mobility application.
b) The ranking list is published on the DiARC website.
c) The ranking list is transmitted by the Architecture Didactic Area Office, in accordance with current procedures, to the University’s International Relations Office for the relevant administrative measures.

a) Students awarded an Erasmus scholarship for the first semester, the full academic year, or the second semester must accept their placement within the deadlines and according to the procedures published by the University’s International Relations Office on the website unina.it.
b) The assigned placement cannot be modified in any way, nor is it possible to request additional positions beyond those established in the current agreements.
c) The departure date and the duration of the mobility period abroad are determined at the time of acceptance and depend on the start and end dates of courses and/or other activities at the host institutions, as well as on the number of months specified in the Erasmus Call.
d) Failure to accept the assigned placement is considered a withdrawal from the Erasmus Scholarship.

For each student awarded a scholarship who has duly accepted the assigned destination, the University’s International Relations Office carries out the nomination to the host universities, in compliance with the deadlines and procedures prescribed by each partner institution.

  1. a) University placements that remain available due to withdrawal and/or lack of assignment and/or acceptance in the first round are allocated to eligible students on the ranking list, but only for the second semester.
    b) The allocation of vacant university placements takes place in September and applies exclusively to the second semester.

N.B. In the case of students awarded a scholarship through the reallocation procedure (scorrimento), departures are limited to the first semester of the current academic year. Following regular acceptance, the nomination procedure (as outlined in point 5) will apply.

  1. a) Before departure, students must sign the Erasmus financial agreement with the University’s International Relations Office, from which the status of “Erasmus Student” exclusively derives.
    b) The procedure for signing the financial agreements requires, as a mandatory step, the upload of the following documents to the platform https://mobility.unina.it, under the “Career Attachments” section:

    • Application Form

    • Learning Agreement

    • Proof of Language Proficiency
      c) The University’s International Relations Office verifies the documentation that each student is required to prepare and upload on the Mobility platform and subsequently prepares the Financial Agreements.

The University’s International Relations Office arranges for the payment of the grant.

The Erasmus Office of the host university sends Erasmus students the call letter, containing information on the deadlines and procedures for the Application Form, which are in any case already specified in the Erasmus Call.

The Erasmus student proceeds to formalize his/her enrollment at the host university on the basis of the instructions provided in the call letter and, in any case, already specified in the Erasmus Call.

Learning Agreement / Online Learning Agreement (LA/OLA) – Before Mobility

a) The Erasmus student prepares the Learning Agreement before mobility and submits it to the exchange academic coordinator, who must sign the LA if it is in PDF format. If the LA is in digital format uploaded on the OLA platform, the student must still submit it to the exchange coordinator and, once accepted, the Department Erasmus Delegate will validate the LA by signing it on the OLA platform.
Note: The signature on the OLA platform may only be made by the Department Erasmus Delegate.

b) Approval of the Learning Agreement / Online Learning Agreement (LA/OLA) before mobility
The exchange coordinator or the Department Erasmus Coordinator reviews the LA, may propose changes, and finally approves it.

Learning Agreement / Online Learning Agreement (LA/OLA) – During Mobility

a) The Erasmus student may modify the Learning Agreement by resubmitting it to the exchange academic coordinator and to the Department Erasmus Delegate (procedure as described in point 11).
b) Approval of the Learning Agreement / Online Learning Agreement (LA/OLA) during mobility
The exchange coordinator or the Department Erasmus Coordinator reviews the LA, may propose changes, and finally approves it (procedure as described in point 11).

Learning Agreement / Online Learning Agreement (LA/OLA) – After Mobility

a) Upon return, the Erasmus student prepares the Learning Agreement after mobility, reporting the exams taken.
b) Approval of the Learning Agreement / Online Learning Agreement (LA/OLA) after mobility
The exchange coordinator reviews the LA and approves it.

  1. a) The Transcript of Records (ToR) is an official certificate issued by the host university, indicating the results achieved by the Erasmus student.
    b) At the end of the Erasmus period, the student must upload to https://mobility.unina.it the ToR, the Learning Agreement (including any changes, duly signed), and the certificate of attendance.
    c) The University’s International Relations Office records the activities and the number of credits earned (a statistical figure that is subsequently verified based on the validation and recognition carried out by DiARC).
  1. a) Premises:

    • The Erasmus scholarship holder is required to attend courses at the host university abroad.

    • During the Erasmus period, the Erasmus scholarship holder may not take exams in Italy, except for those related to courses attended in semesters prior to the Erasmus mobility.

    • The prerequisites established by the student’s degree program must also be respected for exams taken at the host university during the mobility.

    • All activities carried out during the Erasmus mobility must be certified exclusively by the host university in the Transcript of Records.

    • The Erasmus scholarship holder must take at least one of the exams included in the Learning Agreement (LA); otherwise, the grant must be returned.

    b) Procedure for validation/ratification of exams taken abroad:
Once the Erasmus mobility is completed, upon return the student must send to the Architecture Didactic Area Office (email: allagrande@unina.it) the following documents:

    • Transcript of Records

    • Learning Agreement (from the first to the last version submitted and approved, if changes were made)

    • Erasmus Exam Validation Table published on the DiARC website

    c) The Department’s Erasmus Committee evaluates the Transcript of Records, Learning Agreement, and Erasmus Exam Validation Table, and proceeds with the grade conversion based on the official tables published on the DiARC website.

    d) The DiARC Department Council ratifies the academic recognition of the Erasmus exams.

    e) The Architecture Student Office records the recognition of the exams taken during Erasmus and the corresponding ECTS credits, including the exam dates at the host university.

Erasmus+ Traineeship

The procedure for the recognition of the Traineeship within the Erasmus Mobility Traineeship program (Art. 12 – ACADEMIC RECOGNITION of the Call) does not require either a logbook or a report, but only the following documentation, which scholarship holders must send to me by email:

  • LAT (Learning Agreement Traineeship)

  • After Mobility Certificate (Traineeship Certificate)

  • Erasmus Traineeship Validation Table

As with Erasmus Study Mobility, the traineeship is ratified/validated by the Department Council.

However, if the traineeship falls within the agreements established with foreign institutions, the Logbook, Portfolio, and the University Tutor’s Report must be uploaded by students as files on the TEAMS channels of the Traineeship Committee of their respective Degree Program.
